With a bombardment of media, political unrest, drama and trauma, it is easy to get “frozen” and/or triggered deeply about it all. You might just completely zone out and/or feel helpless.
No doubt, things are shaken up in a way we have not seen in decades and yet I truly believe we are here “in it” for a reason.
What Could That Reason Be,You Ask?
After teaching the Inner Counselor Process (ICP) to a group of incredible Souls this past weekend, it was like being in a time capsule of unconditional love, empowerment, authenticity, healing, true connection, support and joy.
People brought their genuine concerns as well as their compassionate, loving hearts to heal, learn how to help others more deeply and grow.
It was empowering, dynamic and real.
So how do we translate this kind of healing, love and growth into a world that feels like harming others and chaos is the reality?
A few thoughts seem important right now…
- Transform your fear: You are more empowered as you transform your fear. Fear alone will not heal and transform you or the world’s problems. Only love. (spoken from a person who has recovered from a full blown anxiety disorder) Let love lead and in the places that this feels hard, allow yourself to heal those places. You and the world will become better for this. This is an act of revolution in itself.
- Turn your fear into passion and act on it: Remember, you don’t have to like what is happening to align with love and compassion. Disagreeing and disliking how things are is a preference and a powerful choice you have every day. Please speak out and support the issues you are “inspired” to support. Your passion is imperative here. Turn your fear into passion and see how effective you will become!
- Take impeccable care of yourself… especially right now. Self-care is not optional anymore. Spend time tending to your inner world. Violence, loss of meaning and too much external focus are all signs the Soul is being neglected.
Do not allow the media, advertising and unsupportive people, places and things to hijack your nervous system.
It is YOURS not theirs. For those of us who have had lots of trauma, we’ve had our inner world hijacked enough! ️ Set boundaries around your intake of information and spend time doing things you enjoy and that nurture you. Your nervous system, heart and body are yours. Tend to them well. They will serve you and the world greatly during this time if you LOVE yourself the best you can, body, mind and Spirit. Your wellness is a needed act of revolution in an ever-changing world.
